General Overview

Effective July 1, 2013, the Department of Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness (SSEP) underwent a restructuring. This move included uniting all campus safety personnel under the Associate Vice President of Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness. This move provided a one-college approach to delivering safety and security services and ensured the standardization of these services. The Department of Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness has remained an integral part of 黑料门大事记's dedication to developing and maintaining a safe and secure environment to make your time at 黑料门大事记 as safe and enjoyable as possible.


黑料门大事记 does not have a sworn campus police force but employs non-sworn Public Safety Officers. All 黑料门大事记 Public Safety Officers possess Class D licenses issued by the State of Florida and/or an active law enforcement certification. Their duty is to assist students, staff, faculty, and visitors, provide traffic control and direction, respond to incidents on 黑料门大事记 property, assist in building evacuations, and identify individuals on college property to determine whether they have lawful business at 黑料门大事记.

Organizational Structure

District

The main office for the Department of Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness is located at the Cypress Creek Administrative Center.

Campuses & Centers

A Public Safety Lieutenant is assigned to each primary campus, and a Public Safety sergeant is designated for the Willis Holcombe Center (WHC) and the Partnership Centers. These individuals are responsible for planning, organizing, overseeing, and coordinating DSSEP's daily activities on their assigned campus/center.

Mission

The mission of the Department of Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness is to support the goals of 黑料门大事记 students, employees, and guests by providing an environment free from worry and fear.

Vision

​The vision of the Department of Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness is to be a model of service-based public safety at institutions of higher education.

The philosophy of the Department of Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness is to support and supplement the College’s vision, mission, core values, and strategic plan by working in partnership with the College community to create an environment conducive to learning.
